Chapter 1
Hello Penny
"Judge me and I will prove you wrong. If you tell me what to do, I'll tell you off. Call me crazy, but you really have no idea."
In a house of humans, I feel disgusted. In a house with other cats...? Harder than being strapped in a chair with the smell of tuna fish wafting around your nose, but not being able to eat it.
The first time anyway. By now, you get used to it. But on a show of being the normal cat, so no one gets more attached to you than you may be of them (friends are too easy to make!). After awhile, you understand something. There's so many cats in this world, and types of them too.
1.) The normal - eats food, gets pet, nice civil conversations. Best cat to share a house with.
2.) The pig - eats a lot of food, sleeps, is usually cranky, stays out of your way. Amazing roommate!!
3.) The misconducted - All they want to do is eat your food, bat your ears, and rip your tail. Until you rip theirs. Annoying person to share a 100 foot radius of.
4.) The friend - Thinks your best friends, and when you have to go.. Uuugghhh - Annoying housemate
5.) The Lover - Is in love with you, and cries once you must leave, and tries to do everything for you. Worst.
But honestly, Penny is confusing. First she's all normal; then she's misconducted, then she's your friend.. Then she's just normal!
I wonder what she is. But she's different all right!
I walked slowly around the house, inspecting every square inch of it, only to have an unexpected -and unwanted- housewarming. "Oh, you'll just love it here!" Penny said, admiring the sun outside of a window in the house. "Oh. Hello P-" I stuttered, until she finished my sentence for me. "Hello Penny! That's what I like. Something formal but a little friendly." I was about to just stop talking overall, until she gave me the question I've been practicing for ever since I got this job. "So, where you from?" Penny asked. "I come from a place all the way across the land, a place called..." I started, and looked over at Penny, but she was too busy stretching for me to see her face. "A place called Salem!" I said. "What country." Penny said, quite calmly. "What do you mean what country? I protested, getting a little flustered. "Eh, Oregon." I answered. "What historical moment happened in that country?" Penny asked. "Who are you to ask me about who I was? Why aren't you focused on who I am now? 'Oh, my name is Bear. I just came here from a plane ride! I love to adventure and my favorite food is a fresh chipmunk!' how about that for information?" "Well, someone's a hothead." Penny murmured. "How about any questions about me, hmm?" She mischievously twitched her tail and padded off into another room. "And have fun exploring the house on your own!" She called out. "Who are you then?" I said, raising my voice. "Penny. You stupid little mouse!" She laughed, and I could no longer hear her, because she was drowned out by the footsteps of my owners. "Well look at this, Beary Boo making new friends!" The female yipped, picking me up and stroking me. "BEARY BOO! BWWHAHAHAAH" Penny bawled of laughter in the distance. My owners set me down on the couch and went into the other direction. "Where's Penny Pie Panda Poos!" The female said, as I laughed in the glory of humiliation.
This should be a fun new house, for sure.

A Small Beginning of a Huge Epidemic
I padded around the unfamiliar grounds. Everyone and everything was new. Just new. I am a guardian. My name is Bear. I'm a black cat with green/yellow eyes. My job is to keep my family safe from harm, stop the stupid mistakes. I need to keep this family safe until it's my time to go.
Obviously, I have rules. I've followed these rules for as long as I remembered. I'm best at the guardian service. The rules are:
Don't make friends
Never get attached to your family
Never fall in love
Never leave your household
Pretty simple! But this new house had a different vibe. I could tell this would be a difficult job, because there was another cat behind me. I snarled under my breath, but stood up straight and put on a happy face. "Hello?" I called out, my meow echoing in the hallways of the house. "Hey! I'm Penny." A small but cute Cat bounded out to him. She was calico, but the astonishing thing was she seemed to have tiger stripes on her grey parts of her fur. "I'm Bear." I said, dully. I'd better not make her think I'm the friendly type.
I'm never the friendly type.
